Burglar's Mindset

No matter how a burglar may plan to get into your house, they have only one goal in mind – to get into your house and steal your valuable things without being detected. Although there are many approaches that a burglar can think of to break into your house, there are some common elements which we can spot in all their approaches. By understanding the mindset of burglar, we can take better precaution steps to prevent burglary. Below are the 3 common elements of a burglar:

1. Burglars always look for vulnerable access points to their target home. Vulnerable access points mean that it would be easy for them to enter the house without being seen.
    
2. Burglars make it a point to carry out their plan under the cover of darkness, and enter the house at points where the lighting is poor.  The dark helps to shade the burglar from being detected easily.
    
3. Burglars target homes that are unoccupied, where no one is at home.  They can easily and leisurely sort out the valuable things they want from the unoccupied without the need to rush in doing the crime.
